Her passion, insight, and drive brought fresh energy to Kendake Honey’s journey, and her reflections remind us why collaboration is such a powerful force for good.
Veronika’s Reflections: "Throughout May and June 2024, I had the pleasure of working with Chi Okafor (Founder) and getting to know Kendake Honey’s business and mission. We were matched through a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative run by the company I work for. I have to say, it’s been a very rewarding experience and a great learning journey too.
We focused on how to expand in the B2B range as well as increase the B2C reach. We worked through various areas and laid out suitable next steps. It was totally worth it to step outside of my comfort zone and gain knowledge about a new business area, market conditions, and challenges. Especially with a leader like Chi, who is always a step ahead on activities and truly passionate about making a lasting impact. Chi not only runs a profitable business, producing organic honey with the highest certification standards and amazing taste, but she also ensures protective measures for the beehives – not only sustainable but also of high importance for our planet. Moreover, she advocates for and empowers African women to secure their own income and become independent female farmers. Chi is an inspiration on how to make a positive change in the world: embrace your cultural heritage, connect the dots, break stereotypes or outdated societal expectations, and never stop believing you can do it. I am more than grateful to have had the opportunity to join the team of Kendake Honey – a women-owned and women-powered social enterprise.
I’d like to close off my reflections with a quote from Chi’s mom: 'If you are going to do it at all, give it your all' – for me, the magic essence of every success story.
